bill.
Q. What temperature should I keep my thermostat to conserve
energy?
A. To conserve energy set thermostat at 68 degrees in the winter and 78 degrees
in the summer.
Q. It’s winter and when I look at my unit, steam or smoke
is coming off, is that normal?
A. Yes. Don’t be alarmed because your condensing unit is going through its defrost cycle.
Q. Should I have my unit checked periodically?
A. We recommend homeowners signing up on a preventative maintenance program.
It will prolong the useful life of your air conditioning system and prevent
major problems and the associated expenses.
Q. My air handler is located in the attic and I have had water
leaks that caused considerable damage. Is there any way to prevent this?
A. Yes. You can have a float switch installed. It is designed to shut down
the unit before the drain pan overflows.
Q. What is something I can check if my unit is not coming on?
A. Sometimes it is simple as resetting the breaker and thermostat. Turn the
thermostat to off, then back to desired mode (heat/cool).
Q, Should I add bleach to my drain line?
A. If you have a T stack in the drain line, we recommend you add a cup full
at every filter change.
Q. I’m just not getting a lot of airflow in one room,
why?
A. Check the ductwork for air leaks or crushed ducts.
